Senator John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center History

The Senator John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center was opened in 1988. IT was named in honor of Senator John J. Shumaker. His vision, determination and commitment to community service were the catalyst for HACC's Public Safety Center.

The Senator John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center (PSC) stands as a lasting tribute to Senator John J. Shumaker. He devoted his life to public safety and the betterment of society.


Current programs and training

We offer a wide variety of training programs. We provide this training for the following units:

  • Police
  • Fire
  • Healthcare
  • Emergency-service personnel

The PSC also offers response and safety training for private industry and other organizations.
 

Customized educational and training programs is available for most courses. These programs are held at off-site locations. This 12-acre complex is located just north of HACC's Harrisburg Campus.
